Q&A - Management after buying your freehold

Wednesday, 8th November 2006

QUESTION

We have recently purchased the freehold in our block. Where can we find more information about the management and running of a block?

ANSWER

There are several good sources of information you may like to investigate further. If you have not already done so, you may like to consider joining the Federation of Private Residents Associations. The FPRA are a not-for-profit advice, support and lobbying organisation for private residential leaseholders, tenants' and residents' associations, and residential management companies. You can find out more information by visiting www.fpra.org.uk or calling 0871 200 3324. In addition, the Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE) is a reliable source of good quality information, and in particular provides free advice on the law affecting residential long leasehold property and Commonhold. You can contact them by visiting www.lease-advice.org. Finally, of course, don’t forget to regularly check the News On The Block website for helpful articles, advice and tips – www.newsontheblock.com
