A new association for the next generation of leasehold professionals.

Thursday 14th January, saw the inaugural networking event of the new association aimed at the next generation of leasehold professionals aptly named Young Leasehold Professionals (YLP).

Founded by Colin Horton, a Senior Asset Manager of Pier Management, the association has been established to help bring together young people from across the sector and to help forge professional relationships that will span their careers. It has been designed to give members a platform to meet up on an informal basis and remove the awkwardness that can sometimes be associated with these kind of events. The power of networking can never be overlooked and on many occasion simply putting a face to a name can prove beneficial when trying to close a deal!

Members of varying professions were out in force on Thursday with around 25 firms represented from valuers, solicitors, property managers, estate agents, service charge agencies and facilities managers, to name but a few. There was an extremely insightful speech from Geneviève Mariner of Stretton’s on how to succeed in the industry and there was plenty of industry chit chat while the drinks were flowing.

The event was kindly sponsored by The Regis Group whose Managing Director, Paul McFadyen said "We are most keen to support young industry professionals coming together to network, share experiences and knowledge and applaud Colin Horton for his insight and enthusiasm in creating this group".

The next event is being lined up for late spring/early summer and the turn out is expected to double so for those who are interested , please get in touch with Colin at chorton@piermanagement.com for more information on how to join.
