ALEP Autumn Conference is judged the Association’s best yet by delegates

ALEP Autumn Conference is judged the Association’s best yet by delegates.

ALEP’s Autumn Conference 2015 took place on Tuesday 20 October at the Royal College of Physicians in Regent’s Park. Hosted by ALEP’s Honorary President, Damian Greenish, the conference was attended by over 260 delegates.

Delegates enjoyed lunch and networking after which Alex Greenslade of Leasehold Solutions, and ALEP’s founder and Honorary Secretary, gave a colourful presentation on non-participant funding in collective enfranchisements.

...

Mark Loveday and Nicola Muir, barristers at Tanfield Chambers, presented the traditional case update outlining what’s hot in 2015 and what’s to come in 2016.

Later, Peter Beddard of Arundales Chartered Accountants steered delegates through the maze of common enfranchisement taxation pitfalls.

The conference - ALEP’s 17th - was described by delegates after the event as the Association’s best yet and, undoubtedly, its highlight was the thought-provoking debate on Philip Rainey QC’s paper ‘Further Leasehold Reform Radical Thinking’.

The panel session was expertly chaired by Joshua Rozenberg, Britain’s best-known commentator on the law, who facilitated an engaging - and at times controversial - discussion between delegates and guest panellists barristers Philip Rainey QC, Anthony Radevsky and Thomas Jefferies.

Delegates and VIPs enjoyed a drinks reception in the Dorchester Library after the event.

Save the date:
ALEP’s Spring Conference will take place on Tuesday 15 March 2016 at the IET London, Savoy Place.
