ELM Group grows team to support key 2023 business objectives

ELM Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Angela O’Shea as new Area Manager for its brand-new portfolio of properties. The new role, which started at the beginning of January, will see Angela manage a portfolio of 12 estates, with capacity for new estates expected to join the Group’s portfolio during the first half of 2023.

After previously spending over six years as the Estate Manager, managing a Beechcroft estate at Croxley Green, Angela brings a wealth of experience and skills to the role, which will equip her to complete her professional development over the following six months, with support from the Area Manager Team.

In addition to Angela’s new role, the company’s current Area Operations Manager, Lynnette Foli, will be taking on a modified role which will see her providing enhanced support to the Head of Operations, Louise O’Sullivan. Lynette has been working with ELM Group since July 2022 where she has managed a small portfolio and successfully mentored the company’s very first developing Area Manager, Paul Wenn.

Following Angela’s appointment, Lynette’s portfolio has been largely distributed among members of the Area Manager team, providing her with greater capacity to focus on team management and development – in line with future growth plans. The Area Manager team currently comprises six Area Managers and 85 Estate Managers with plans for further development and expansion under Lynette’s supervision.

Lynette’s updated role will streamline the Head of Operations function, freeing up Louise to drive forward new projects and deliver the company’s key business objectives for the year, whilst retaining line management duties and oversight of service charge budgets and accounts. Louise will also continue to take the lead on ELM Group’s management of the Beechcroft portfolio which has been managed by the company over the course of the last 14 years.

A primary objective for the company in 2023 will be the implementation of forthcoming Fire Safety and Building Safety Legislation changes, coming into force in stages throughout the year, across all 110 of ELM Group’s estates.

Louise O’Sullivan, Head of Operations, said: “This is an exciting time for our business with many new opportunities in the pipeline – once again, we are very lucky to have some exceptionally talented people in our organisation to support this growthELM Group places a strong focus on development of its people, so we are delighted to see Angie and Lynette grow with us as a company. We look forward to seeing them thrive in their new roles and the successes this will bring to our business.”

ELM Group manages retirement communities across the South of England and has become one of the UK’s leading retirement leasehold management companies. The company originated in 1971 as Retirement Lease Housing Association (RLHA) a charitable organisation founded by a group of volunteers with a shared vision - to pioneer the development of sheltered housing for sale to people of retirement age. Sheltered housing for rent was already widely available, but the founders wanted to introduce the concept to those who valued owning their own property and saw the benefits of a purpose-built Estate, with onsite support from an Estate Manager.

Having built upon their enviable reputation in the independent retirement living sector, RLHA are proud to be one of the South of England’s leading leasehold property management companies.
