Fortus named NLG's sole service charge audit partner

Together, Fortus and CLAWS Consultants provide specialist Service Charge and accounting advice to the housing sector, and collaborate on a number of large-scale conferences, seminars, and training events for those involved in managing property.

Commenting on the new partnership, Alan Wake AssocRICS FIRPM, CEO of the NLG and Managing Director at CLAWS Consultants said, “We’re very much ‘singing to the same tune’ – our purpose is aligned and we’re working to the same outcomes for our clients. Both Fortus and CLAWS Consultants have strength and experience in our teams, with a wealth of knowledge across all aspects of leasehold and property management.

Fortus’ in-house Service Charge team has seen impressive growth over recent months and our team at CLAWS are excited to see where this partnership takes us, both in terms of joined-up educational events and best practice delivery, as well as the further value both parties bring to the housing sector as a whole.”

Paul Jepps, Director - Head of Service Charge at Fortus Business Advisors & Accountants added, “We’ve been working with Alan, the NLG, and CLAWS Consultants for some time now, so we’re thrilled to have formalised our partnership as sole Service Charge auditing partner. Having attended and spoken at numerous NLG conferences and seminars across the country, it felt only right to become a headline sponsor and official supporters of the NLG - a group that echoes our own values and is highly respected and reputable within the industry.

“With Fortus’ combined experience of over 200 years’ Service Charge expertise, this partnership gives us the opportunity to continue sharing insights with our fellow professionals, and challenge each other to develop and push the sector forward. For us it’s important to align ourselves with other professionals who share our passion for developing the leaseholder sector, and this partnership with CLAWS and the NLG means we’re able to continue on these ambitions whilst pushing the boundaries of what’s achievable for our clients and housing sector organisations alike.

We’re kickstarting our partnership with the NLG’s Annual Service Charge conference on 7th July 2022. It’s promised to be an informative and engaging day for our expert speakers, including Fortus Service Charge’s Fraser Akehurst who’ll provide updates and discussion points on a wide range of Service Charge-related issues.”
