Hyperoptic appoints ex-BT Director to increase focus on connecting New Build housing sector

Hyperoptic has appointed ex-BT Director Jo-Anne Dunning as Business Development Director to continue to grow its presence in new build homes across Britain.

Jo-Anne joins from BT, where she led new business for FTTP, and brings more than 15 years of experience. Jo-Anne’s expertise will help Hyperoptic to establish more relationships with home builders, continuing to ensure that homeowners have fast, reliable, day one full fibre connectivity.

Hyperoptic recently celebrated the milestone of connecting more than 100,000 new build homes, and it has agreements in place to connect a further 100,000 over the next twelve months.

...

“My ambition is to make Hyperoptic the first provider that developers look to for connecting their new build properties,” said Jo-Anne. “We’re going to continue to focus on great relationships, reliable service, and innovations based on an in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities that developers face.”

All of the new build homes Hyperoptic connects come equipped with a router and a three-month trial, which means new homeowners can immediately connect to an already-activated full fibre broadband service before they even start unpacking.

Hyperoptic now has partnerships with more than 250 developers across the UK and is working with 17 out of top 20 housebuilders. It has signed nationwide partnerships with Barratt Developments, Bellway Homes, Avant Homes and CALA, covering the whole of their new build housing portfolios. Hyperoptic helps developers meet obligations outlined in planned changes to Building Regulations 2010, which will require that all new homes should have gigabit broadband as standard.

In 2021, Hyperoptic also launched ‘site-wide WiFi’ to support Build-to-Rent (BTR) investors and operators. ‘Site-wide WiFi’ lets residents remain connected to their own individual network wherever they are on the development, enabled by a series of access points positioned throughout the site.

Liam McAvoy, COO, Hyperoptic, said: “It’s great to have Jo-Anne on board, ensuring that we can keep expanding our offering to new build developers. Her expertise and leadership will help us meet our ambitious goals, developing more development partnerships, and ensuring more home buyers are getting a brilliant full fibre broadband experience.”
