Loveitts appoint new MD to build on 175 year old estate agents' success

Leading estate agents Loveitts has welcomed a new Managing Director to guide the business through the next chapter in its 175 year history.

John Pugh (who is a Chartered Surveyor and has been with the firm for 20 years) has now taken over the reins.  His aim is for Loveitts to continue to evolve and adapt to meet the ever‑increasing challenges of the property market whilst maintaining the qualities which have made the firm such a trusted institution - customer care, professionalism and honesty.

John said: ‘Whilst we value tradition we are forward thinking and adaptable to market trends.

...

‘Nowhere is this more evident than in the big push towards new homes – a thriving market in which Loveitts is already making its mark having recently appointed Laura Wilson as the firm’s Area New Homes Manager.’

Loveitts offers a far-reaching range of property related services, including: residential sales and lettings, commercial sales and lettings, residential and commercial property management, block and service charge management, property auctions, land and new homes, professional valuations and rent review and lease renewal work.

“In the Coventry, Nuneaton and Leamington marketplace we are unique,” John added.

“‘We are the only multi-disciplinary firm in Coventry providing the most diverse range of services.  No other local firm can offer all of this.”

John is taking over from Peter Rosier, who has been at Loveitts for 45 years and has had a key role in the firm’s success.  Peter, who has recently been admitted as a Freemen of the City of Coventry, will remain as a Director to the firm so his extensive expertise is still available to the business.

John added: “For me Peter is the embodiment of Loveitts and an example of what can be achieved through effort, commitment, loyalty and professionalism.”

In the last two years Loveitts has worked hard to further develop each of its offices – Coventry, Leamington and Nuneaton – which are structured as individual profit centres.

Leamington serves as the South Warwickshire hub whilst a new office in Nuneaton oversees the ever-expanding North Warwickshire operation.

Loveitts have also recently appointed Mark Walmsley to head up residential sales for the firm which is a further exciting move to have secured the services of such a highly regarded seasoned local professional.

In addition Simon O’Brien, a senior formerly London based commercial surveyor, has now joined the team to further strengthen Loveitts commercial offering.

Simon has 23 years of commercial property experience and prior to joining Loveitts was an equity Director for fourteen years of a general practice property group in West London comprising of a successful commercial agency department, three long established brands of Chartered Surveyors and a property management department, as well as both residential and sales departments. Simon headed up the Commercial Property department and was also jointly responsible for the formation of an auction department that was very quickly named as one of the Top Ten London Auction Houses in The Telegraph and one of the top twenty nationally according to EIG.

Loveitts have been auctioneers since they first opened in 1843 and are the only local auctioneer in Coventry and Warwickshire.  Currently Loveitts are pushing forward with their online auction offering to compliment their traditional auction room sales which they hold bi-monthly at Coventry’s Village Hotel.

The auction team is headed by Sally Smith – the only female auctioneer in the region.
