Managing Agents expand regional property management hub in East of England

Residential property management firm Block Management UK Ltd has doubled staff presence at its newest offices in Ipswich, Suffolk, as part of a focus on improving and expanding its services across East Anglia. The Sudbury-based firm believes that the region offers opportunities for growth.   Director David Collinson said;   “Across the region we see some exciting activity in residential building and infrastructure. Norfolk has a high rate of residential building completions. The East of England Co-op is committed to a full-scale renovation of its £100m property portfolio and Cambridge University is investing heavily in new home building. In Ipswich itself, the tender to design two new bridges across the river Orwell has been won by world-renowned architects Foster + Partners, which will stimulate transport links in the area.”   Speaking about Ipswich, David said:   “We manage properties across the country and could have chosen anywhere to expand operations. However, exciting things are happening in Ipswich and we wanted to be part of it. We already manage some well-known buildings in the town, including the old cigar factory Churchman’s House and St Francis’ Tower.”   The regional hub approach sees the company offer high-quality and cost-effective management that has local presence and local knowledge.   To underline the move, the company’s newest office overlooks Ipswich’s most famous (albeit previously stalled) residential development; the Winerack. The 147-apartment, mixed use development was re-booted last year after several years’ hiatus, and completion will mean a new lease of life for the site. It is exactly the kind of development that Block Management UK is in Ipswich to manage.   The privately-owned company was founded in 2004 by David Collinson who saw a need for property management that combined cost-effective management with a sense of community and an understanding of the specific needs of each client’s property.   The company’s diverse portfolio ranges from modern apartment blocks such as The Ropeworks in east London, to prestigious period properties such as the Royal Naval Hospital in Great Yarmouth.
