Millstream Management Services (MMS), the leading provider of retirement housing management services in the UK, has celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a special event at its Head Office in Ringwood. Staff from across the region gathered to mark the occasion and were presented with a special Birthday Cake to mark a decade of growth and success.
From its humble beginnings in 2006, MMS has grown to manage 128 retirement housing developments nationally, looking after 4,935 apartments and providing services to around 6,000 retired people. The company has ambitious plans to keep up this impressive growth, and hopes to double the number of retirement apartments it manages over the coming years.
In 10 years the MMS team has grown to over 160 employees based all over the country, and the wellbeing and happiness of Owners remains at the heart of everything they do. Lodge Managers across all developments oversee safety and security for Owners, look after their day-to-day needs and help to co-ordinate hundreds of lifestyle events. Their responsibilities range further than ensuring the building is maintained, as they also create a pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere. As well as providing a helping hand, the Lodge Manager becomes more of a friend to residents, providing companionship.

It takes a lot of knowledge and experience to provide customers with market leading property management services, especially in the specialist retirement living sector where we operate. We’ve now been doing it for a decade, and I’m looking forward to continuing that success. Over the coming years we’ll look to double the number of apartments we manage and keep pursuing our vision be the best property management company in the UK.”
Two long serving team members Hennie Van Der Vyver and Dave Ryder have been a part of the MMS team ever since it was founded. Financial Manager Hennie said: “It’s been a fantastic journey over the last 10 years building the business to where it is today. In many ways the time has flown by, and I’m very proud to have been a part of the consistent growth and success we’ve achieved over that time.”
Operations Director Dave Ryder added: “Like Hennie I was one of the very few who were here at the beginning, but we have many long serving team members who have joined and stayed with us as we’ve grown, and it’s been a real team effort over the years. One thing we all share in common is a genuine commitment to putting customers’ needs first and that has been the basis for our success. Here’s to the next 10 years!”
As well as managing all Churchill Retirement Living developments, around 20% of MMS business is managing retirement housing for both landlords and groups of Owners who have exercised their Right to Manage (RTM). RTM allows leaseholders to choose the manager of their block of flats, without the need to collectively purchase the freehold.
Anne Walker and Paul Garugati took the Rights to Manage opportunity themselves and are now Directors of Godmans Court (Cowfold) RTM Co. Ltd. They said: “We took advantage of the legislation which enabled the estate to go Right to Manage and chose Millstream Management Services Ltd to be our new managing company, as the previous company had failed us on so many issues. Millstream has exceeded our expectations by offering us a superb service with very helpful staff at Head Office and an Area Manager who supports us in every respect. Thank you, Millstream, for making the lives of residents on our estate so much better.”
