SDL announces first property partner on new franchise scheme

SDL Group has unveiled the first franchisee to sign-up to its newly launched Property Partners estate management scheme.

Emma Davey has been a property manager for 11 years, with 23 years’ experience in the property industry overall, having worked for Charles Church, Grange Management, SHW and Berkeley Homes. As an SDL Property Partner, Emma will now have her own property management company with the backing and support of SDL.

The franchise initiative is the first of its kind in the industry and enables property managers to start their own business with the resources and expertise of a leading brand. The scheme is also suitable for existing property management business owners looking for extra business support, or letting agents looking to diversify.

Franchisees are offered a seven-day intensive training course, Qube licence, company set up and VAT registration with ongoing advice and support. They can also access a full range of marketing materials and support.

“This feels like the opportunity I have been waiting for,’ explained Emma. ‘It allows me to be in full control of client service, introduce my own ways of working, and have the support of some of the best resources in the industry.

“Large organisations have a tendency to impose their preferred suppliers and in-house surveyors or health & safety officers on clients. Property managers are expected to enforce, defend and insist upon this practice, even when the client is uncomfortable with the lack of choice. I never liked this and am now in the position to find the best value solution for each of my clients. This is the opportunity for transparency and accountability.”

Nick Faulkner, Managing Director of SDL Property Partners added: “Emma is the first to sign up to a revolutionary property management franchise scheme. I am looking forward to working with her closely to build a scheme that is not only sustainable for her own branch and customers, but for future SDL Property Partners franchisees too.”
