MetroPM integrates block management portfolio of Nick Plotnek Associates

Birmingham-based estate management firm MetroPM has integrated the block management portfolio of Nick Plotnek Associates.

Matthew Arnold, managing director of MetroPM, said: “Nick Plotnek Associates specialises in lease extensions, purchase of freehold and acquisitions, along with block and estate management.

“Having managed several of the estates for some 30 years, Nick Plotnek has taken the decision to focus on lease extensions and freehold purchase, transferring the block management portfolio to MetroPM, with whom they have worked closely with for over 15 years.”

The transfer, which became effective on 1 April 2023, sees a further 40 estates come under MetroPM’s management.

Mr Arnold said: “We are delighted that Kirsty Wright of Nick Plotnek Associates will be transferring to MetroPM and Nick Plotnek will remain as a consultant to MetroPM.

“Nick has been very passionate about providing an exemplary service to his clients over many years and having had a long-standing professional relationship with both Nick and Nick Plotnek Associates, both parties feel that the transfer will be seamless, and our clients will continue to enjoy the high levels of customer service from MetroPM, a privately-owned business headquartered in Birmingham and operating nationally.”

Nick Plotnek Associates is based in Harborne, Birmingham. The deal will create further jobs within MetroPM including a service charge accountant who is familiar with Qube/MRI real estate management software and, in coming months, a property manager to support the estates team.

MetroPM specialises in block and estate management and is a member of and regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

MetroPM also holds full corporate membership of both the Association of Residential Managing Agents (now called the TPI – The Property Institute), which is the leading trade association for firms that manage private residential leasehold blocks of flats in England & Wales.

Nick Plotnek said: “It was very important to us that the portfolio transferred to an agent who is regulated by RICS and members of ARMA.

“As apartment and estate living becomes more popular and buildings become more complex, so it becomes vitally important for residential managers to specialise in this field of expertise, enabling them to deliver consistent and high levels of service to their customers.”

Mr Arnold added: “MetroPM will continue to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure the quality of management provided is of a high standard, being accessible to the owners, with a named point of contact.

“MetroPM’s philosophy is underpinned by an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of property management by skilled and qualified staff, highly motivated to provide a dedicated and quality individual service.

“This is strengthened by efficient administration and up-to-date management and office software systems, which enables our staff to meet the needs and requirements of clients in this varied and ever-changing market.”

Incorporated in 2006, MetroPM is a customer-focused, proactive and expert-led business.  MetroPM specialise in the complex area of service charge management with its wide range of statutory regulations and technical complexities.
