Vertical, based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, has appointed Dan Alvarez as its new Group Chief Revenue Officer. The appointment is part of Vertical’s mission to shake up the Proptech market for both renters and landlords.
Alvarez has over 30 years of experience of transforming and driving scalable growth within a number of UK businesses including Vitrifi, Vorboss and Glide, where he specialised in building structured, high-performing operations and fostering collaborative team cultures.
Alvarez will oversee all customer, revenue, and marketing related functions across the Group’s portfolio of brands including The Student Energy Group, Do Energy and Tickd.
While PropTech is hugely beneficial for the real estate industry it's not without its challenges and Alvarez is determined to make Vertical the go to for ensuring PropTech works for landlords in a low touch scalable way that reduces choice paralysis and increases seamless integration across multiple solutions.
“I’m excited to be joining Vertical at this pivotal moment in their business journey. The company has built an impressive foundation, and I'm looking forward to contributing to the next phase of growth as we scale our operations and expand our impact in the PropTech market," said Dan Alvarez.
Alvarez has set ambitious goals for his tenure, including significantly increasing revenue in his first year and building a self-sustaining, scalable business model. His priorities also include positioning Vertical for substantial growth over the next five years and leveraging innovative engagement strategies to enhance customer experience.
“Dan’s extensive experience in connectivity, fibre optics, and utilities, combined with his strategic approach to revenue growth, makes him the ideal person to help guide us in our next chapter."
“We want to help change the way utilities are managed, our platform allows us help enhance the whole journey and make everything better for everybody. Think of it as moving the industry from the Blockbuster business model to Netflix,” commented James Villareal, CEO of Vertical.
The appointment comes as Vertical continues to expand its presence in both professional and residential energy markets, with particular focus on securing landlord partnerships and attracting student customers. Vertical is at the forefront of PropTech innovation, delivering smart energy solutions that simplify energy management for landlords, students, and residential customers.
