Another pair of modern, high-rise apartments in an eye-catching tower block in Birmingham city known locally as “the shower cubicle” are appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction.
The latest two properties with panoramic views of the city are on the 22nd and 24th floors of Beetham Tower at 10 Holloway Circus, a 39-storey building which hosts the Radisson Hotel on its first 20 floors.
Apartment 2201 is a one-bedroomed unit with a guide price* of £90,000+, while Apartment 2405 is a two-bedroomed apartment with a guide price of £115,000+, and both will appear in the livestreamed auction on Thursday 26 March.
James Rossiter, associate director at Bond Wolfe, explained that two similar Beetham Tower apartments auctioned last year had each been sold for around 10% more than their guide prices.
Beetham Tower overlooks the Holloway Circus roundabout on the Inner Ring Road, known locally as “Pagoda Island” because of a 40-foot Chinese pagoda located there.
This was donated to the city by the Wing Yip brothers, founder of a local Chinese supermarket chain, and it forms a landmark for the nearby Birmingham Chinatown area of the city.
Mr Rossiter said: “What we have here are two residential property investments in a purpose-built block with a communal entrance, both generating healthy rental incomes.
“Apartment 2201 has a hall, a combined reception, kitchen and dining room, a bedroom, and a bathroom.
“This property is currently let at £875 per month, bringing in rent of £10,500 per annum, with the sale subject to this existing tenancy.
“Meanwhile, Apartment 2405 has a hall, a combined reception, kitchen and dining room, two bedrooms, and a bathroom.
“This property is currently let at £1,100 per month, bringing in rent of £13,200 per annum, with the sale also subject to this existing tenancy.
“Both leasehold properties benefit from electric heating and a concierge service, and each is on a long lease of 999 years from January 2003.
“Offers in excess of the guide price may be considered prior to the auction.”
The block is also just around the corner from New Street train station, and close to all the city centre shops and services.
The apartments will be among 178 lots appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction which is due to start at 8.30am on Thursday 26 March.
The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
