Blacks Solicitors expands Real Estate Finance team to meet growing market demand

With over half of instructions generated through recommendations and long-standing industry relationships, the team has supported more than 240 clients in the last financial year, including Aldermore Bank PLC, Natwest, Together Commercial Finance and Handelsbanken.

The team has welcomed Solicitor, Ugochi Nwabuikwu, Associate Solicitor, Alex Mathias, and Graduate Solicitor Apprentice, Dev Matharu. 

Ugochi specialises in secured finance and property refinancing across both separate and dual representation matters, while Alex brings over four years’ experience advising commercial lenders and borrowers on private lending, large investment, and development transactions. Dev joined the team earlier this year and will be assisting the team whilst developing his knowledge in this practice area.

The team has vast expertise in development, bridging, and portfolio finance transactions, and I look forward to further developing my practical, hands-on experience at the firm.”

With an extensive network of clients regionally and nationally, the Real Estate Finance team works closely with high-profile lenders and borrowers. Most notably, the team recently acted for a funder, financing a £24.5 million acquisition of a 200-plus property portfolio in Yorkshire, highlighting their proficiency in high-value, multi-asset deals.
