Canford Law is pleased to announce the acquisition of PDC Group, an established specialist property legal services business comprising Property Debt Collection, PDC Law and PDC Conveyancing.

The acquisition is Canford’s first following its strategic partnership with Queen’s Park Equity and represents an important step forward in the Group’s growth.

It also puts into action the strategy set out when that partnership was announced: to continue building Canford organically while pursuing carefully selected acquisitions that add specialist expertise, strengthen the Group and extend the services available to clients.

Welcoming PDC to the Canford Group

PDC provides specialist property debt recovery, litigation and conveyancing services to landlords, managing agents, management companies and homeowners. The business brings an experienced team, deep knowledge of the property sector and strong, long-standing client relationships to the Canford Group. Its expertise complements Canford’s established insurance and commercial litigation practices and gives the Group a meaningful presence in property law and debt recovery.

PDC will continue to operate under its established brands and will remain led by Managing Director Reece Wheeldon and the existing senior leadership team. Maintaining that continuity is important to both businesses. PDC’s clients will continue to work with the people and teams they know, while benefiting over time from the investment, resources and wider capabilities available as part of the Canford Group.

Building on Strong Foundations

The combination creates opportunities for Canford and PDC to share expertise, technology and operational resources, while retaining the specialist focus and individual strengths of each business.

It also provides a platform for continued investment in PDC’s people and capabilities, supporting the business as it enters its next phase of development. For Canford, the acquisition adds a complementary area of legal expertise to the Group and demonstrates the disciplined approach it intends to take to future expansion.

David Nash, Founder and CEO of the Canford Group, commented:

“When we announced our partnership with Queen’s Park Equity, we set out a clear ambition for the next stage of Canford’s development. I am extremely pleased that PDC is the first business to join us as we begin to deliver that strategy. PDC has an experienced and talented team, deep expertise in its markets and strong relationships with its clients. From our earliest conversations,

it was also clear that there was a strong alignment between our businesses in terms of culture, ambition and how we believe clients should be looked after. For me, that alignment is fundamental. We are not looking to grow simply for the sake of becoming bigger. We want to bring high-quality specialist businesses into the Canford Group, invest in what already makes them successful and give them the support and resources to achieve more. PDC gives Canford an exciting new dimension, with established expertise across property law, debt recovery and conveyancing. I believe there is a great deal we can learn from each other and significant opportunity ahead for both businesses. I am delighted to welcome Reece and the entire PDC team to the Canford Group and look forward to building the next stage of our businesses together.”

The Next Stage of Canford’s Growth

The acquisition of PDC is an important milestone, but it is also the beginning of the next phase of Canford’s development. The Group will continue to invest in the organic growth of its existing businesses while exploring further acquisition opportunities in complementary areas of law. Canford’s approach will remain selective. Future acquisitions will be focused on specialist businesses with strong teams, established client relationships and cultures that align with the Group’s own. The ambition is to continue to build a diverse, tech enabled legal services group, bringing together excellent businesses and providing the investment and support they need to continue developing.
