Chard Robinson has won an award at the 2014-15 UK Property Awards for its student accommodation development The Newton.
It was named winner in the Residential Development category for Cambridgeshire, gaining the highest score of 5 stars.
The Newton is a new development on Humberstone Road, Cambridge, comprising 23 contemporary one-bedroom and studio apartments for students. It occupies the site of the former Fleur De Lys pub.
Chard Robinson was shortlisted after, in the opinion of the judges, demonstrating commitment to superlative design, sustainability, environmental impact and the use of technology in The Newton’s construction.
The awards took place on October 24 at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square in London. The highest scoring five-star winners from each category have now been put forward for re-judging against winners at the same level in other regions of the world: Africa, Asia Pacific, Arabia, Canada, Caribbean, Central & South America, Europe and USA.
The 2014 International winners in each category will be named at a special event at the Jumeirah Madinat in Dubai, on Thursday, December 4.
