National law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has advised social housing provider Vico Homes on the acquisition of new build dwellings across three sites from national housebuilder Vistry Group that will deliver 347 new homes across Yorkshire.

The purchases comprise a mixture of affordable rent, shared ownership and open market additionality homes at Highfield Lane in Waverley, South Yorkshire; at Blackmoorfoot Road, the former Black Cat Fireworks Factory in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire; and at Wakefield Road, Mapplewell, also in South Yorkshire.

The acquisition was led by Helen Wittram, partner in Clarke Willmott’s commercial property team, assisted by associate Nils Richards, with planning input from senior associate Laura Urch and paralegal Kelly Foreman.

“Vico Homes (rebranded from Wakefield and District Housing in early 2025) is a new client and aside from completion of an initial phase at Waverley in the summer, these were our first instructions to complete and show our commitment to acting for registered providers right across England,” says Helen Wittram.

“The acquisitions reflect Vico Homes’s ambition and make up a substantial part of its strategy to expand its 32,000-home portfolio and deliver 1,500 more homes before 2028.”

Clarke Willmott’s team of specialist residential development solicitors is one of the largest in the UK, acting for numerous PLC and SME housebuilders as well as over 100 Registered Providers of social housing, plus major frameworks including HALA, CHIC, ASW, National Framework Partnership (NFP) and The Regenda Group.

Clarke Willmott is a national law firm with offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton. For more information visit Leading Solicitors To Social Housing Providers - Clarke Willmott
