COHO, a leading shared living property management software, has appointed Jon Hurley as Chief Product Officer to lead the vision, direction and delivery of COHO’s digital product suite, driving the company’s next phase of innovation and growth.

Created to make co-living simpler, smarter and more connected, the company is the UK’s only HMO platform to offer compatible based matching, bringing tenants together with common interests. COHO is now used by more than 55,000 tenants and over 6,000 HMOs, helping landlords and property managers market and manage rooms and houses more efficiently.

The business has seen rapid expansion, with 87% year-on-year growth, 187% growth over 18 months, and an impressive 531% increase over the past two years. It is now targeting 200,000 units on the platform within the next two years.

Having previously held roles at AXA Insurance, Switch Design Consultancy and co:home, Jon has over 12 years of experience in shared living management organisations, and co-founded COHO in 2019 alongside CEO Vann Vogstad.

Moving away from his current role as Chief Operations Officer to take the lead on product development, his expertise lies in managing digital and online solution delivery, and hands-on software development, with other specialisms including relational database design and technical problem‑solving.

In preparation for the Renters’ Rights Act 2025, the biggest legislative reform to the property market in over 30 years, coming into effect from 1 May, under Jon’s guidance COHO is releasing a host of new features. For landlords these include a fully compliant digital Assured Tenancy Agreement free for all COHO users with documentation merge tags in place, catering to owners and managers of single lets and HMO rooms while also simplifying grouped HMO onboarding.

Supporting this rollout is a broad package of usability improvements designed to make the platform even easier and faster to learn and navigate. These upgrades feature a new communications panel and document‑serving flow to centralise, track and evidence key tenant documents, supported with stored templates, and document merging tools.

For letting agents, COHO is finalising the release of property float features and wider financial‑workflow improvements, including enhanced supplier payments, and owner settlements.

Streamlining the listing journey further users will also benefit from the platform now being integrated with Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket, with additional user experience refinements also on the way.

Jon Hurley, Chief Product Officer, says: “I’m thrilled to be taking the role of Chief Product Officer of COHO at such an exciting time for the business, as it accelerates the delivery of new features that make COHO faster, smarter and even easier for customers to rely on.

“COHO is leading the way in innovation in the shared-living management sector, and we’re continuing to deliver tools that give landlords and agents greater clarity, compliance and control in an evolving market.

“My role will focus on exploring customer insights, creating clear and consistent product focuses, and monitoring market and regulatory shifts, competitive movement, and emerging opportunities.”

Vann Vogstad, Chief Executive Officer at COHO, says: “We’re thrilled to announce that Jon will be leading on the development of our product suite. His rare ability to move seamlessly between strategy, marketing, and development brings exactly what we need as we continue to scale.

“Jon’s experience and his instinct for building products that truly solve problems will be instrumental in driving COHO’s next phase of growth. We’re excited about the impact he’ll have on both our team and the wider shared living community.”
