The free, one-day event taking place on 22nd October 2026 at Plexal, Here East, in London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will feature talks from some of the leading figures in building safety from around the UK.

SertusLive 3 will bring together delegates from various industries, with main contractors and developers, architects and design teams, fire engineers, M&E consultants, building control professionals, building safety and compliance teams, and fire and rescue services all confirmed to be attending the event.

Live smoke control product demonstrations and dedicated demo zones will run throughout the day, alongside networking opportunities for attendees across the building safety supply chain, with an optional drinks reception to close the event.

Shane White, Managing Director at Sertus said:

“SertusLive 3 is about bringing the whole building safety supply chain into one room to have the honest conversations that genuinely matter – through the lens of smoke ventilation.

“As a manufacturer, we still see too many parts of the supply chain working in silos. Regulation has changed significantly, but safer buildings ultimately depend on breaking down those barriers, collaborating earlier, demonstrating competence and turning requirements into practice.

“Our mission at Sertus is to safeguard lives and property, and that sits at the heart of why we created SertusLive. We want people to leave with different perspectives, practical insight and a greater understanding of how we can work together to deliver safer buildings.”

Since the Building Safety Act came into force, the industry has faced a fundamental shift in expectations around competence, accountability and evidencing compliance throughout a building's lifecycle. SertusLive 3 will examine what that shift means in practice, across five core themes:

  • Navigating the Gateways - what ‘good’ looks like at Gateway 2 and Gateway 3

  • Compliance in practice - bringing regulation, competence and accountability into real-world project delivery

  • Safety culture and human factors - lessons for building safety from other high-risk industries

  • Occupied buildings and fire safety - ensuring safety is maintained beyond completion and handover

  • Smoke control in practice - the cost and consequences of late-stage fire safety decisions

SertusLive was launched in 2025 to break down silos across the building safety supply chain, bringing regulators, contractors, developers, architects, fire engineers, building control and fire and rescue services into one room.

SertusLive was launched in 2025 with two inaugural events, culminating in SertusLive 2 at the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service Training and Development Academy, where attendees had the rare opportunity to see live smoke ventilation and fire demonstrations under realistic conditions, alongside a keynote from Dame Judith Hackitt DBE FREng.
