The IRPM is delighted to announce that it has made the shortlist for the prestigious EG Tech Awards  2021. The Institute is a front runner in the Big Picture category, showcasing its campaign for industry-wide adoption of the UPRN. This category is open to influential bodies, organisations and government schemes/departments which can demonstrate support for tech and real estate on a grand scale.

Former winners in this category include NHS Property Services in 2020.

The IRPM entry demonstrates how we are driving forward the technology agenda in property management via our campaign for industry-wide uptake of the UPRN. We believe this sets the scene for ethical, collaborative digitisation of the customer experience, enhanced compliance and seamless stakeholder engagement. We are actively promoting recognition of the importance of digital connectivity to improve industry performance in tandem with better outcomes for our customer base.

In 2020 IRPM published a series of Tech Insight white papers that aimed at helping members better understand the issues around data use and technology in the buildings they manage, and point to the need for greater connectivity in our sector.

By linking with cross-sector initiatives such as the Golden Thread of tall building safety information, the UPRN in particular has the potential to completely transform the way digital data is utilised to the benefit of the whole industry, our clients and consumers.  Many organisations recognise the benefits of a commonly used single identifier, but the real pay-off will come when it is used across the whole market.

We are now spearheading a drive to make this happen via an open letter to government and industry, through ongoing high-level discussions with government and industry stakeholders and our work with the RED Foundation and TLIC.
