Law firm Irwin Mitchell has recruited Gavin Walmsley as a Senior Associate in its Residential Property team in London - strengthening its national capability across contentious and non‑contentious leasehold enfranchisement.
Moving from Birketts’ Property Disputes team, Gavin acts for both landlords, individuals and tenants across the UK.
Gavin specialises in residential advisory work and asset management in a residential context, including rights of first refusal, Right to Manage, and leasehold enfranchisement, with experience in high‑value, complex claims involving flats and houses.
Gavin also advises on non‑statutory (voluntary) lease extensions and freehold purchases and disposals and supports conveyancing transactions where lease extensions are required.
National Head of Residential Property at Irwin Mitchell, Garrath Reayer, said:
“Gavin brings with him outstanding technical knowledge in leasehold enfranchisement and landlord & tenant law, and we’re delighted that he has joined us.
“His ability to combine strategic insight with practical solutions means our clients will benefit from advice that is not only technically robust but commercially focused. His experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters, including high-value and complex estate work, strengthens our capability to deliver exceptional outcomes for landlords, tenants and property owners across the country.”
