L&Q invites Londoners to learn more about London Living Rent at Barking Riverside open day

Sessions can be booked throughout the day. They cover how London Living Rent works, including its eligibility and affordability criteria, and include a viewing of the remaining apartments. L&Q's lettings team will be on hand to answer questions, explain the application process and help people start an application.

London Living Rent is funded by the Mayor of London and aimed at people on middle incomes who want to save towards buying a home. Rents are set below typical market rates, so residents can put more money aside each month towards buying later, either through Shared Ownership or on the open market.

Barking Riverside is being delivered by master developer Barking Riverside Limited, a joint venture between L&Q and the Mayor of London. The development includes transport infrastructure, green space and onsite amenities.

The London Living Rent homes are finished to a contemporary specification. A typical apartment has an open-plan living space and spacious bedrooms. Kitchens come with integrated appliances, bedrooms have large windows, and bathrooms have white sanitaryware and chrome fixtures. Every home has a private balcony or terrace.

The Exchange, a riverside venue with food, drinks and live music and events all year round, is a short walk from the homes. Nearby is The Wilds, a new ecology, community and events space with a community-run café and hot desks for people who want somewhere other than home to work.
