
UK planning and development consultancy Lichfields has announced 12 promotions, reflecting continued growth in workload and sustained demand for planning and development services.
Three have been promoted to planning director: Arwel Evans, based in Cardiff; and Phil McCarthy and Lynda Newsome, both based in Newcastle. Andy McLaren, based in Manchester, has been promoted to associate director.
A further eight promotions have been made to senior planner: Emily Clarke, Henry Gomm, Paddy Hynes, Harry Payne and Anna Rigelsford, all based in London; Abigail Knowles in Manchester; Zoe Mason in Bristol; and Andrew McMeiken in Newcastle.
Arwel Evans advises energy infrastructure and residential development clients. His work includes advising Pulse Clean Energy on a synchronous condenser project at Upper Boat near Pontypridd.
Arwel said: “Wales is playing a leading role in decarbonising the national grid. Our understanding of planning policy, the consenting route and the requirements of energy schemes means we can take advantage of the opportunities for our clients.”
Lynda Newsome has more than 20 years’ planning experience across housing, industrial, health care and student accommodation.
She said: “The project pipeline across the North East is strong and we anticipate this will remain the case for the foreseeable. Demand is underpinned by ongoing planning reforms designed to accelerate the delivery of much needed new homes.”
Phil McCarthy advises on major infrastructure and industrial projects, including large employment and energy-related schemes.
