A 32‑year‑old man was stabbed to death in the lobby of the DAMAC Tower — a 50-storey luxury residential high‑rise adjacent to the US Embassy in Vauxhall — in the early hours of Saturday, July 5. Metropolitan Police were called to Bondway at 5:38 am following reports of an altercation and found the victim with fatal knife wounds. Despite efforts by the London Ambulance Service, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men, aged 33 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene. A murder investigation has been launched, and a crime scene remains in place. Detective Inspector Aytac Necati offered condolences to the victim’s family, confirmed they are being supported, and stated that no further suspects are being sought.
Residents of DAMAC Tower — part of the upscale Nine Elms development — reported lockdown conditions. The building’s landlord reassured occupants that the site is secure. Police have implemented reassurance patrols and temporarily disabled elevators during the investigation.
