Property estate management firm MetroPM has been appointed to look after 12 prestigious apartments in a Grade II listed former church in Birmingham.
St James Church in Edgbaston is a converted Gothic building located in one of Birmingham’s most sought-after suburbs and a short distance from the city centre.
Steeped in history, St James Church, was built in the mid-1800s. It was converted in 2004 in to 12 individual apartments, the quality of which was recognised with awards.
The location of St James Church offers the best of two worlds, leafy and picturesque within a sought after B15 district of Edgbaston.
Matthew Arnold, managing director of MetroPM, said: “St James Church Management Company Ltd appointed MetroPM as they wished for their appointed agent to be experienced in dealing with Grade II listed buildings and understand the need for proactive management, providing a high level of customer service to the leaseholders.
“MetroPM are delighted to have been appointed and look forward to working with the management company.”
The building was ruled surplus to requirements by the Church of England in 1967 and was later converted into apartments in 2004. The conversion was highly acclaimed at the time and won the Special Design Award, in the 2004 Birmingham Post and Mail’s House Design Awards, the 2005 Renaissance Award, from Birmingham Civic Society and the 2007 Award for Building Conservation, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Awards.
