One Park West in Liverpool

But then few apartment blocks create this impression. At 17-storeys tall it is not the city's tallest building and it doesn't have the slender grace of other glass towers - but it always divides opinion.

Yet Liverpool's estate agents seem unconcerned by the criticism the building has attracted. Andrew Schofield from City Residential loves the block "One Park West's controversial design has attracted praise and criticism in equal measure."
And to prove that there's no such thing as bad press; the newspaper headlines have delivered a large number of buyers and renters. Martyn Green of King Sturge believes the building's first year shows great promise: "..with owner-occupiers and
investors spending over £25m - it was one of the best-selling developments in the North, probably the country." Green is equally as enthusiastic about the location. "When you walk out of your apartment door you are just yards away from 5.5 acres of parkland, numerous shops, restaurants, bars and two new hotels." Grosvenor certainly piled a lot of money into the development, the entrance foyer is impressive, the apartments are large and the quality is top-notch. But it's the location that really sells. One Park West is surrounded by some of the city's best facilities, proving that if the location is right, you can be as controversial as you like.
