Mover of the month - John Barter joins Tremorfa John Barter joins the Managed Services division within the Tremorfa Group as Strategic Development Manager. Tremorfa has its HQs in St Mellons, Cardiff and has offices strategically placed around the UK and Ireland providing all Building Management Services in the private and public environment. John is a graduate of the University of East Anglia where in 2002 he obtained a Masters in Business Administration. Having worked in the fire and security industry for more 20 years, he worked his way through various service and project management roles after beginning his career as an engineer commissioning fire systems nationwide in royal and military establishments. Following a brief period in the US, John returned to the UK as divisional manager of a well-respected fire and security organisation where he specialised in the maintenance and installation of systems for a select group of Blue Chip telecoms and media companies. John commented: ‘I am delighted to be appointed. These are exciting times, and I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead. ‘

Darren Kelly joins Ingram Winter Green solicitors specialising in Commercial and Property litigation. Commenting on his move, Darren says: ‘I am delighted to join Ingram Winter Green where I am able to continue acting for both landlords and tenants in property disputes but also to have the opportunity to expand my practise to disputes of a more general commercial nature .’

Bob Smytherman was elected Chairman of the Federation of Private Residents’ Associations, a support group for leasehold property matters. Bob has been a local borough councillor for the Liberal Democrats in Worthing since 2002 and a Director of the FPRA for many years.

Countrywide has appointed Guy Batchelor as its new Corporate Business Director. Guy said: ‘Having had an 18-year relationship as a customer of the Group, I am delighted to be joining Countrywide in this role and look forward to working with my new colleagues to ensure we continue to exceed our customers’ expectations. Samantha Bone and Simon Serota have become co-heads of the newly formed leasehold enfranchisement department of Wallace LLP. The launch of the department follows Wallace’s involvement in a significant number of important and ground breaking enfranchisement cases in recent years, acting for both landlords and tenants. Stephen Gayer has been appointed as the new managing director for The Ringley Group’s Property Management Division. Stephen joins the organisation with almost 30 years’ experience within residential Estate Management and is a Chartered Surveyor, fellow of the IRPM and Member of the Council of ARMA. ‘My dream is for Ringley to become the ‘John Lewis’ of Residential Management - a company that attracts business through its reputation based on the quality of its staff, consistent good value and exceptional customer service.’

David Hebditch, currently regional director of Humberts South West, has been named interim managing director of the company. Hebditch comments: ‘Despite the mayhem in the financial markets, this is an exciting time for Humberts. The breadth of our service offerings, strong financial position and depth of property knowledge makes Humberts the logical choice for anyone looking to buy, sell or manage property to best advantage. I am delighted to be taking the helm at Humberts on an interim basis to ensure the company continues to develop its potential.’

Leigh Shapiro has joined the enfranchisement team of Trowers & Hamlins LLP. Commenting on her move, Leigh said: ‘‘I am relishing the opportunity to add to the expertise already within Trowers & Hamlins LLP in this area of the law particularly in the current economic climate where it is important for both landlords and tenants to maximise their assets’.
