Principle Estate Management has been appointed to look after more than 60 luxury apartments in a plush London neighbourhood.

The new contract is to manage Charlesworth House at 48 Stanhope Gardens in South Kensington, a new-build project of 64 private apartments behind a Grade II-listed exterior.

The upmarket area, often known by the shortened name of “South Ken”, is historically one of the most expensive neighbourhoods in London, close to the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum.

The new appointment comes shortly after Principle was named UK Managing Agent of the Year at The ACE Awards run by The Property Institute, the professional body for property management.

Joe Jobson, joint managing director at Principle, said: “We are thrilled to have been appointed to manage this striking recreation of a terrace of grand houses with an impressive stucco façade.

“We are especially proud to have been chosen by the residents and homeowners of Charlesworth House, which overlooks Stanhope Gardens square, with 24-hour porterage and three levels of underground parking beneath.

“Lisa-Marie Bradnock, the associate director in our London office, will now work with her team to quickly complete the property’s capital expenditure and long-term maintenance plan, implementing our 100-day promise on all other aspects.”

Charlesworth House is Principle’s latest contract win in London's most sought-after locations, with other recent appointments including Empire House and Dalmeny House in Kensington, and Ovington Court in Knightsbridge.

Charlie Barbor, lead resident on the newly-formed Charlesworth House RTM Company Ltd, said: “Our tender process was in-depth and rigorous, as we were determined to find a high-quality management company with experience of managing our level of property.

“We were immediately impressed by the presentation from Principle Estate Management, as they could not only show a portfolio of many similar properties but could also list the many improvements they have made on each contract.

“It’s crucial to us that our prestigious apartment block is fully maintained and future-proofed, and Principle stood out as agent of choice, with the expertise and vision to meet our requirements.”

Principle operates nationally with offices in Birmingham, London and the north-west, employing more than 100 staff who look after more than 25,000 units across the UK.
