Nearly 20 rugby players from Worcester Warriors are among new residents at a popular development in Worcester city centre, thanks to estate agency Nicol & Co.

Matt Nicol, managing director of Nicol & Co, has revealed that his staff have now let nearly 85% of apartments available at Sherriff’s Gate, located next to the town’s Shrub Hill train station.

And Matt Everard, head coach at Worcester Warriors, has explained that “approaching 20” of his team were enjoying the “lovely” apartments.

Mr Everard, talking on BBC Hereford & Worcester about how his team was creating a “unique bond” in their new homes, said: “There are about 20 lads living together in a block of apartments in the middle of Worcester, and so those guys are all tight.

“They’re not all in one apartment, it’s a collection of two-bedroomed apartments and they’re lovely, right near the train station, at Sherriff’s Gate.”

Mr Nicol said: “We have now let 178 out of 213 apartments since the launch of Sherriff’s Gate this Spring, which means nearly 85% have gone.

“It’s great to hear that the apartments at Sherriff’s Gate are making such a difference to team bonding at Worcester Warriors.

“We’re proud that so many of the team’s new players are living in the apartments, joining many other tenants we’ve signed up for the development.

“Anyone else keen on this fantastic new location needs to act fast before they all go.”

Sherriff’s Gate is Worcester’s new build-to-rent scheme, with a stylish range of apartments featuring open-plan living spaces, triple-glazed floor-to-ceiling windows and elegant modern flooring.

Only two-bedroomed apartments are remaining, priced from £1,050 per calendar month – and there is a three-week discount for anyone who moves in before the end of October.

There are a host of onsite amenities, including secure keyless entry, a lift to all floors, a planned co-working lounge in John Gregory Court, plus an on-site property manager and maintenance team.

All residences at the development have the option of high-speed broadband, and they come with mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, and an EPC rating of B.

Sherriff’s Gate is located 500 metres away from Shrub Hill Station, with journeys of just 30 minutes into Birmingham by train. It’s also only a short drive to the M5 motorway.

The development is at the gateway to Worcester city centre and is less than half an hour’s walk from the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, one of the largest employers locally, or an even quicker bike ride.

Sherriff’s Gate is also only 1.7 miles away from the St John’s Campus of the University of Worcester, and Nicol & Co said that it would also appeal to mature students.
