Home movers in Sussex are set to make big savings on their next home purchase, following the latest announcement from chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng. The latest mini-budget announced by the Government involves a major tax cut for homebuyers, who will pay no stamp duty on properties up to the value of £250,000, rising to £425,000 for first time buyers.
Barratt David Wilson Homes, who is behind a number of developments across Sussex, has opened its doors to homebuyers looking to benefit from the stamp duty savings. Plus, buyers will reap the rewards of homeownership for years to come, with owners of a Barratt David Wilson home set to save up to £2,400 on their yearly energy bills compared to an updated Victorian equivalent.
With a number of family homes and apartments available to purchase at developments in Angmering, Willingdon, Peacehaven, Yapton and Haywards Heath, buyers across the board could make major savings. For example, a first time buyer will now save over £6,000 for a new home worth £500,000.
Kimberley Benson, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties, commented: “Stamp duty payments have long proved a challenge to homeownership for first time buyers, and a significant hurdle for second steppers and downsizers looking to move along the ladder. The recent cuts to stamp duty will be a key in the door for many, potentially leading to thousands of pounds in savings during a time that many of us are having to tighten their belts.
“For this reason, alongside the drive for energy efficient homes as the energy crisis continues, we expect our homes across the county will remain popular – we’ve already had many local first time buyers enquiring about how much they can save following stamp duty cuts. We want to encourage anyone interested to register their interest online, or come down and speak to one of our fantastic sales advisors who can advise on the many schemes we have to support our customers - like Deposit Unlock and Movemaker.”
All new Barratt David Wilson homes are built with sustainability in mind and energy efficiency at the forefront of the design, achieving an EPC A or B rating – a level of energy efficiency shared by just 3.1% of existing homes – thanks to the range of the highest efficiency technology incorporated throughout, including: A-rated condensing boilers; low heat-loss hot water cylinders which ensure water stays hotter for longer; and water savings features and fittings helping to save up to 25 litres of water a day per person.
Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties is building a number of new homes at Ecclesden Park in Angmering, Meadowburne Place in Willingdon, Chalkers Rise in Peacehaven, Ryebank Gate in Yapton and Wychwood Park in Haywards Heath.
