For the first time ever, the most influential people in the residential leasehold property sector are identified. The list contains a mix of leasehold campaigners, Parliamentarians, trade and professional bodies, managing agents, building owners, investors, developers, valuers, and lawyers amongst others.
Entries have been gathered subjectively according to our knowledge and experience of the industry and are arranged in alphabetical order by name.
Neil has specialised in the residential and alternative investment sectors for over 20 years. Whilst at Aviva Investors he has been closely involved in areas including Igloo Regeneration Fund, Quercus Healthcare Fund, Beach Student Fund and Capital Residential Fund, as well as launching and managing the Aviva Investors REaLM Ground Rent Fund. Neil has also advised on residential investments in Germany, the Czech Republic and Romania.
As a Peeress in the House of Lords, Baroness Gardner has actively raised issues concerning residential leasehold property in Parliament including questioning the Government on regulating managing agents and leasehold service charges.
Andrew has a broad and substantive professional experience built up over a 30 year career. Seeking to add value not only the management of residential property but in Project and Construction management, Building alterations/development, Residential ground rent reviews, Lease extensions/ Enfranchisement. He is also an accredited Expert Witness on the reasonableness of service charges.
Enfranchisement and Right to Manage barrister of the year 2011 and recommended in Chambers UK and the Legal 500, Ellodie specialises in leasehold issues including service charges, enfranchisement, rights of first refusal and right to manage. Writing credits include ‘Service Charges and Management: Law and Practice’ and ‘Leasehold Enfranchisement Explained’.
Julius set up Dorchester in 2010 as a fund and asset manager in order to source and manage ground rent portfolios on a sufficient scale for Institutional Investors to gain access to the market. Prior to Dorchester, Julius was Finance Director of Morley Fund Management, now Aviva Investors property fund management business.
Damian Greenish is Chairman of solicitors Pemberton Greenish LLP. He is co-editor of the leading textbook on enfranchisement; Hague on Leasehold Enfranchisement. He is Honorary President of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP) and is a member of the Residential Management Committee of the British Property Federation.
Alex founded both with his sister, Anna Bailey. He has huge experience as a hands-on manager of both collective enfranchisement and bulk lease extension projects and prides himself on explaining both processes in jargon-free language.
The Cadogan Estate comprises 93 acres of Chelsea with a value of circa £3.4 billion. Held by the family for over 300 years, today it includes approximately 3,000 flats, 600 houses, as well as shops, offices, restaurants and hotels. The Estate has been at the forefront of setting LRA valuation precedent.
Chartered Surveyor David, is successfully expanding SHW’s residential property management business, which has grown by over 5,000 managed units, since 2010. He focuses on mixed use, multi-tenure regeneration projects across southern England, though he has also recently acquired George Trollope’s management portfolio, increasing SHW’s central London leasehold management services.
Since 1992 Harry has created some of London’s most renowned developments. He was made an honorary RIBA fellow in 2012. No two projects are alike; from the restoration of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel to Bankside Lofts. Harry is currently working on a staggering new skyscraper in Stratford, and many other exciting projects.
