Following the launch of St James’ latest Docklands' development, 'The Light House', over 40% of the apartments have been sold off plan. The scheme has attracted a diverse range of purchasers and has proved particularly popular with investors, who anticipate capital growth. The completion of 'The Light House' in 2005 coincides with the opening of Barclays' new offices in Churchill Place, adjacent to Canada Square. 'The Light House' is a collection of 85 one, two and three bedroom apartments, including penthouses and duplexes. The apartments are situated in three separate buildings which are 7, 11 and 13 storeys in height, and in keeping with the light theme which runs through the development have been named Corona, Aurora and Lumina respectively. In addition, a fourth building named Nova will provide 25 affordable homes. The high quality of the development's communal areas is transferred into the scheme's landscaped areas, known as 'The Water Gardens'. Designed by award winning landscape architect Michelle Osbourne, 'The Water Gardens' have a series of pathways lined with olive, plum, cherry and apple blossom trees leading to an open air amphitheatre set around a distinctive water feature.
