Fire safety specialist Trail Group has been awarded a place on the CHIC Fire and Building Safety Framework.
This is a new framework which was established to enhance fire safety compliance for social landlords and buildings across the public sector, whilst encouraging innovation and efficiency.
Trail Group has been appointed to two lots on this new framework – Workstream 1 for Compartmentation and Workstream 2 for Fire Doorsets.
Over 200 public sector organisations use the CHIC framework – housing associations and local authorities, as well as bodies in the healthcare, emergency services and education sectors. Together, these organisations own and manage over two million social housing homes and other buildings across the UK.
Jon Crosby, Managing Director of Trail Group said, “Fire safety is a critical component of strategic asset management. Putting robust fire strategies in place protects both residents and building assets and facilitating compliance and long-term sustainability.”
“We are delighted to achieve this framework success which will contribute to the delivery of critical works and services for organisations across the public sector. We look forward to fostering long-term partnerships with the consortium’s members.”
CHIC (Communities and Housing Investment Consortium) is a non-profit organisation that delivers compliant procurement solutions and commercial support to its members in partnership with the supply chain. Its frameworks secure cost savings, enhanced outcomes and social value.
There is a strong focus on flexibility, collaboration and sustainability on this framework, and alignment with legislative requirements including the Building Safety Act 2022.
Trail Group has been appointed on a number of fire safety framework agreements including those operated by Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, South East Consortium, Pretium, Fusion21, Riverside Group, Guinness Partnership and Notting Hill Genesis. Trail also works with customers via direct award and dynamic purchasing systems (DPS).
Working to FIRAS and BAFE-certified standards, Trail’s Fire Protection Division provides both passive and active fire protection solutions for buildings, including social housing, care homes, hospitals, schools, museums, and offices.
In addition to its fire safety services – from fire alarms and fire suppression to fire doors and fire stopping – Trail Group also offers construction, minor works and electrical services to local authorities, housing associations, the emergency services, and other organisations in the public and commercial sectors.
