Championing Property Management and Members’ Voices

RICS is entering a pivotal moment, and Vicky Clark is stepping forward to help shape its future. She has announced her candidacy for both the UK & Ireland Seat and the Residential Property Seat on the RICS Governing Council 2025, determined to bring property management out of the shadows and back into the heart of the profession.

“When I looked at the Governing Council, I saw a gap, a missing voice,” Vicky Clark says. “Leasehold, freehold, PRS, BTR, estate management, these are not abstract concepts. They are people’s homes. People’s lives. And right now, that voice is ignored, misunderstood, or even silenced. I am determined to ensure that changes.”

Vicky Clark speaks with a rare mix of frustration and hope. Frustration at “ill-informed opinions, misinterpreted legislation, and narratives that bear no resemblance to reality.” Hope that RICS can give property management the platform and voice it deserves, so this vital part of the profession is no longer invisible.

Vicky Clark lives in one of the UK’s largest developments, has mobilised projects with thousands of homes, reported into C-Suites, worked for both small and large managing agents, been trusted by top developers, and served on the client side. Across every role, the same issue emerges policies and guidance that appear sound in theory but fail in practice. Written as if one size fits all, they overlook the precision and complexity required, with consequences felt by leaseholders, freeholders, residents, managing agents, clients, and developers alike.

“These aren’t abstract failings,” Vicky Clark insists. “These are the daily challenges faced across property management, and the reason its voice must be heard. I am standing to bridge those divides, to turn frustration into progress, and to make sure property management is no longer the overlooked corner of RICS but a driving force for its future.”

If elected, Clark has pledged to:

• Grow knowledge across Leasehold, Freehold, Estate Management and BtR.

• Develop a clear MRICS pathway for property management.

• Give members a stronger voice, clearer guidance and influence on legislation.

• Raise standards and professionalism in estate and property management.

• Equip the next generation with skills for all housing tenures.

And Vicky Clark is unapologetic about the fact she is the only female candidate for the Residential Property seat. “It shouldn’t matter, but it does. Out of thousands of members, only one woman standing tells its own story. I will not be a token. I will be a voice, loud, unflinching, determined.”

Her message is stark: “Because this profession matters. Because people matter. And because now is the time to act. Every single vote matters, and I am asking for your support.”

Voting is now open and closes on 8 October 2025.
