A man, a woman and a child died after falling from a high-rise residential building in Elephant and Castle, south London, on 27 May 2026.

Emergency services were called to Churchyard Row, SE11, at approximately 7.29am following reports that several people had fallen from height. Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, London's Air Ambulance and the London Fire Brigade.

The three victims were found at the scene and, despite extensive resuscitation attempts by emergency responders, were pronounced dead.

The London Ambulance Service said its first paramedic arrived within four minutes of the call and that specialist resources, including a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance and members of its Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), were deployed to the incident.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the deaths are currently being treated as unexpected. No other injuries were reported.

Formal identification of the deceased is ongoing. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Building management company Uncle, which operates the tower block, said it was assisting the authorities and sought to reassure residents that the building remained safe.

In a message to residents, the company said: "We know that seeing this kind of activity in your building can be unsettling, but we wanted to reassure all residents that the building is safe. There is no risk to residents, and everything is operating as normal."

Local residents reported hearing sirens shortly after the incident unfolded, while one witness said paramedics were seen carrying out CPR at the scene. Another resident said the building is home to a large number of international students.

Police enquiries remain ongoing and detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
