The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 took place in Las Vegas last month, offering a glimpse of some of the technology that could soon be making people’s lives easier around the home.
Among the exhibits was the Eve Room from Elgato, which gathers data on air quality, temperature, humidity, air pressure, energy and water consumption in your home. There were smartphone-controlled lightbulbs which also act as security cameras, extend Wi-Fi signals and even play music, and sensors for detecting when windows are opened.
Also on show were TVs that automatically pause when you leave the room, and a sensor-laden bot on wheels that can be verbally instructed to take control of internet-controlled devices such as turning off the lights or heating.
James Wyatt, Partner of Surrey estate agency Barton Wyatt, said: “The sheer volume and range of technology for the home presented at CES this year perfectly reflects the demands of today’s property owners. Hometech seems to have lagged behind others of our lives and it’s superb to see innovations such as these finally entering the market, making all our lives easier.”
