A collection of apartments and commercial units in Worcester city centre is to be looked after by MetroPM.
The expanding property management company, which has offices in Birmingham and Cheltenham, has won the contract to manage what it has described as “a true hidden gem” at 7-8 Tything Court, The Tything, in Worcester.
This Grade II-listed, three-storey property contains nine apartments and two ground-floor commercial units and had previously been self-managed by the leaseholders’ management company.
Ian Smallman, director of MetroPM, explained that the appointment came after a recommendation from one of its longstanding clients in Worcester.
Mr Smallman said: “MetroPM has looked after Crown Green Court on St Mary’s Street in Worcester for more than 10 years, and they have always been impressed by our service offering.
“When they were asked by directors at Startsector Property Management Ltd who they would recommend, they had no hesitations in putting MetroPM forward.
“We were asked to offer a tender to look after the property, which we did, and we are delighted to have been awarded this new contract.
“We are now working closely with the board of directors and communicating with all leaseholders so that we can review the property and make sure everything up-to-date in terms of ongoing needs and any future works plans.”
Mr Smallman added: “It just goes to show that recommendation is the best form of advertising.”
Karen Van Berlow of Startsector Property Management Ltd explained that after self-managing Tything Court for a number of years, they felt it was time to appoint a professional managing agent to look after their needs.
She said: “We wanted an agent who we could trust to deal with the day-to-day management of the scheme, and to ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
“We also wanted to choose someone who understood the requirements of a listed building and the importance of customer service.
“Having spoken to our contacts at Crown Green Court, we liked the reputation that MetroPM had built up with them for providing regular communications and updates, sourcing local contractors, and ensuring any works undertaken were both of high quality and value for money.
“After meeting MetroPM and reviewing their tender for contract, we were quickly assured that they were the right company for us to choose.”
MetroPM was founded in 2006 by managing director Matthew Arnold who continues to be actively involved in all aspects of the business. Through its offices in Birmingham and Cheltenham, the company provides residential service charge management for freeholders and clients across the UK.
