The Hollie Gazzard Trust has launched a new Stalking Awareness Toolkit designed to help organisations recognise, respond to and record stalking behaviours, with the aim of creating safer workplaces and communities.

While stalking is often misunderstood or minimised, it remains a serious and persistent form of abuse. The toolkit has been developed to provide clear guidance on identifying stalking behaviours, understanding the impact on victims, and taking practical steps to respond appropriately.

For professionals working across the property and residential management sector, the issue is particularly relevant. Property managers, estate managers, concierge teams, contractors and letting professionals frequently interact with residents, visitors and members of the public, often working alone or visiting sites without colleagues present.

These working environments can sometimes expose individuals to unwanted attention or repeated contact that may escalate into stalking behaviour.

The Hollie Gazzard Trust’s new toolkit aims to equip organisations with the knowledge and confidence to recognise the warning signs early. It outlines key indicators of stalking, explains the difference between harassment and stalking, and introduces the FOUR model used by police and criminal justice professionals: Fixated, Obsessive, Unwanted and Repeated behaviour.

The resource also includes a practical incident log, enabling individuals and organisations to record incidents clearly and consistently. Documenting behaviour over time is often critical in identifying patterns and supporting potential investigations.

Nick Gazzard OBE, founder of the Hollie Gazzard Trust, said:

“Stalking can have a profound and lasting impact on victims. It is often a pattern of behaviour that builds over time, and recognising those patterns early is crucial. Our aim with this toolkit is to help organisations understand what stalking can look like, how to respond appropriately, and how to support individuals who may be experiencing it.”

The toolkit forms part of the Trust’s wider mission to reduce violence and promote personal safety through education, awareness and preventative initiatives.

Alongside the toolkit, the Hollie Gazzard Trust is offering additional training and workshops tailored for organisations, including those working in the property and facilities management sectors.

Training topics include:

  • Stalking Awareness in the Workplace

  • Lone Working and Personal Safety

  • Coercive and Controlling Behaviour Awareness

  • Active Bystander Intervention

  • Working Without Fear

Workshops can be delivered in person and tailored to organisations of all sizes, helping teams build confidence in recognising risks, supporting colleagues and responding safely to challenging situations.

Jodie Fraser, Chair of Trustees at the Hollie Gazzard Trust and Managing Director of JMJ Asset Management, believes the property industry has an important role to play in raising awareness.

“Many people working in property management spend time visiting buildings alone, dealing with residents or members of the public, and managing difficult situations. Providing people with the knowledge to recognise concerning behaviour and the tools to respond appropriately is incredibly important.

This toolkit is about helping individuals and organisations feel better prepared and better supported.”

By sharing resources like the Stalking Awareness Toolkit and encouraging open conversations around personal safety, the Hollie Gazzard Trust hopes to continue building safer workplaces and communities.
