For the first time ever, the most influential people in the residential leasehold property sector are identified. The list contains a mix of leasehold campaigners, Parliamentarians, trade and professional bodies, managing agents, building owners, investors, developers, valuers, and lawyers amongst others.
Entries have been gathered subjectively according to our knowledge and experience of the industry and are arranged in alphabetical order by name.
Rob qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young and worked in financial services for 20 years before becoming CEO of Hercules Property Services (Dunlop Heywood and Gross Fine). He joined HML and floated it on the LSE in 2006. HML manages 40,000 residential units from 11 offices.

Andrew specialises in lease extension and collective enfranchisement advice and valuation. Appearing in numerous cases as advocate and expert, he also regularly lectures on leasehold reform. Andrew is a Director of ALEP, part of the RICS Working Group on enfranchisement valuation and an Honorary Consultant to the Federation of Private Residents’ Associations.
As Minister of State for Housing, Mark Prisk MP is the Government Minister responsible for leasehold property. As he is a Chartered Surveyor by profession, and ran his own business for 10 years before entering politics as a Conservative MP, he has a unique insight and understanding of the property industry.
Gerry is Chair of City Quay Management Company Ltd, the largest apartment complex in Liverpool. He is also Chair of Engage Liverpool CIC which brings together leaseholders and those living in leasehold property in the city centre and waterfront. Gerry represents around 32,000 apartment residents on all the major stakeholder groups in Liverpool.
Tony is co-author of the leading textbooks, Hague on Leasehold Enfranchisement and Tenants’ Right of First Refusal. He has appeared in many important cases, including 4 in the House of Lords/Supreme Court, and 49 in the Court of Appeal. He was the Barrister of Year at the Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards 2012.
Enfran-chisement Barrister of the Year 2009; Real Estate Junior of the Year 2009, Silk 2010. Within his property practice, Philip specialises in Leasehold Enfranchisement, and associated areas such as RTM. Philip is also an expert in service charges. Philip was Counsel in Sportelli and Daejan v Benson.
Group CEO since 2007, Pete has full day to day operational responsibility for the UK Housing division. Prior to the merger he was Group Chief Executive of George Wimpey Plc and before that successively held the posts of Finance Director and Chief Executive of George Wimpey’s UK Housing business.
Natasha has experience in all areas of residential property litigation and leasehold enfranchisement. She advises and acts for a number of settled estates, charities, landlords and management companies in London. Natasha also regularly acts for tenants in relation to enfranchisement claims and enfranchisement-related litigation, including professional negligence claims.
Duncan started R&R with Matt Rittner in 1990, becoming Chairman in 2010. He is a past Chairman of ARMA and is currently Council Member. Duncan is also an IRPM Fellow.
Matt built a chain of record shops, including wholesaling, importing and exporting of vinyl & CDs before founding R&R with Duncan in 1990. Matt’s responsible for the placement of all insurances and continues to manage developments and has 4 management Teams reporting to him. The business is all about people.
