Fire safety and construction specialist Trail Group has been awarded a place on The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s (RBKC) new fire safety framework for its property portfolio of multiple occupancy buildings and individual homes.
The framework contracts have been divided into lots, with Trail Group securing a place in Lot 1 which covers the supply, installation, repair and maintenance of fire stopping, fire compartmentation, fire doors and fire safety signage.
Kensington and Chelsea is one of the most popular areas to live in the UK, and one of the most densely populated boroughs in the country. The Council owns more than 7,000 social housing properties and has operated social housing in the Borough since 2018 when it took over responsibility from the tenant management organisation.
The new fire safety agreement covers a period of four years with an option to extend up to two further years.
Commenting on this latest framework award, Jon Crosby, Managing Director of Trail Group said, “We are absolutely delighted that our expertise and long track record of delivering passive fire safety services have been recognised with our appointment as one of the successful contractors on this important framework agreement. It represents a significant planned investment by the Council in its housing assets.”
“We continue to be a trusted contractor of choice across the public sector for fire safety as well as for building maintenance and construction works. We have a client-focused approach and a reputation for consistent service delivery to the highest standards and in compliance with the latest Building Safety regulations.”
The RBKC framework will ensure a consistent, robust and auditable approach to statutory compliance for fire safety, with key performance indicators being built into the contracts. The contractor assessment criteria used in the bid process included quality of delivery, health and safety, social value and resident engagement.
Trail Group has been appointed on a number of fire safety framework agreements including those operated by South East Consortium, Pretium, CHIC, NHMF, Fusion21, as well as client frameworks including Riverside Group, Guinness Partnership and Notting Hill Genesis.
Trail Group’s services in the social housing sector include passive and active fire protection – fire alarm and fire detection systems; electrical testing and installations; building refurbishments and extensions, and minor works such as damp and mould remediation, loft insulation, pest control and upgrades to void properties.
Its focus is on building safety to help social landlords reduce risk, ensure compliance in a changing legislative environment, and improve housing stock to the benefit of residents.
