I cannot have dogs in my flat as there is a restriction in our lease preventing us from having any pets. However, I would love to take them out for walks. Do you have any suggestions?
You should advertise locally, offering a dog walking service. You could also try contacting local vets in your area or dog shelters, such as Battersea Dogs Home who sometimes allow volunteers to walk the dogs in their care.
After looking at the News On The Block website (www.newsontheblock.com), you should send an e-mail to enquiries@newsontheblock.com with as much information about your block as possible. Somebody from the News On The Block Resident Services team will contact you soon thereafter and go through the procedure for setting up a website for your block. The best thing about your website is that there is no cost to you, and it may even help to reduce your service charges.

First, you should alert your neighbour that her washing machine is leaking so that she can arrange for it to be repaired. Then you should contact your managing agents and inform them of the situation. Normally you will be able to claim under the insurance policy for your block, provided that the damage does not exceed the excess. If it does, then you must pay the excess yourself.
You should raise this with your managing agent who will probably consider whether they can change the flooring from carpet to marble, but as the cost of replacement is shared amongst the residents and has to be a reasonable expense they may either refuse at this stage or suggest it to the other residents and if there is a consensus of agreement take steps to carry out your suggestion. However, if the flooring has only been replaced two years ago and is in good condition it is unlikely the managing agents would recommend changing the floors at this stage. In any event there would have to be sufficient funds in the reserve fund to afford this expense.
