Barratt London’s Wembley Park Gardens development has been awarded Reconomy’s ‘Think Circular’ award for its dedication towards circularity in construction and efforts to reduce waste in the built environment.

A landmark development situated in the heart of buzzing Wembley, Barratt London has delivered a collection of homes built to prevent waste through several unique and sustainable features.

The ‘Think Circular’ award highlights the achievement of organisations that are making proactive steps towards a sustainable future, progressing towards sustainability goals, delivering projects that have numerous environmental benefits, or showcasing innovative solutions driving change.

The award-winning Wembley Park Gardens development has secured its eco-credentials by reusing timber off cuts, installing trade specific recycling zones on every floor and ensuring zero waste to landfill. In addition, 22 new trees, a green roof and 986 square metres of shared green space, including a children’s play area have been created within the boundaries of the site.

James Holmear, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt East London comments: “Receiving Reconomy’s ‘Think Circular’ award is testament to the hard work that has gone into ensuring the achievability of Barratt London’s sustainability ambitions. Wembley Park Gardens has been such an exciting project for the team, and an excellent way to showcase our sustainability framework on a large scale.

“We are committed to building new homes that can exceed our sustainability metrics, but also curate long lasting, happy and healthy communities, instilling a circular approach across all our London based developments. Thank you to Reconomy for recognising the important work we are continuing to do at Wembley Park Gardens.”

Jamie Roberts, Divisional Director, Construction at Reconomy added: “Reconomy’s Think Circular award acknowledges the ever-growing importance of circularity within the day-to-day practices of leading businesses, and we’re proud to name Barratt London as our latest Think Circular award winner. This award seeks to recognise the real change – not just the rhetoric – that Reconomy’s customers are driving in pursuit of greater sustainability. Barratt London is leading by example with its use of innovative and sustainable waste solutions at Wembley Park Gardens, as well as their distinctive use of residential space to create greener areas in the capital, paving the way for other London housebuilders to think about how they can strive towards their own sustainability achievements.”

Wembley Park Gardens, a collection of 302 homes located on the site of a former TfL car park, has been thoughtfully designed with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind, already praised for meeting the Mayor of London’s Air Quality Neutrality benchmarks. Built to encourage a car-free lifestyle, the properties are situated next to Wembley Park Tube Station, providing easy public transport access to residents. Part of a wider regeneration project of Wembley Park, the areas redevelopment will create 10,000 new jobs for local people and bring 42 acres of public open space.

Wembley Park Gardens’ one and two-bedroom apartments are available for purchase now, starting from £411,000 for a one-bedroom home. For more information about Wembley Park Gardens please click here.
