Joe Mallon is the Managing Director of JFM Block & Estate Management and founder of The Block Coach, a new training and consultancy platform for the leasehold sector.

Starting his career in construction, Joe moved into block and estate management in his early twenties, working his way through two leading London firms before co-founding JFM in 2015 with his business partner, James Farrar. Under their joint leadership, JFM has grown into one of the sector’s most recognised success stories, a multi-award-winning, RICS-regulated firm known for its professionalism and consumer-focused service.

Joe’s latest venture, The Block Coach, aims to raise professional standards across the industry through accessible, high-quality training and consultancy. Its programmes are designed not only for new and experienced block managers, but also for contractors and professionals working alongside them, helping the whole sector better understand and work more effectively within residential block management.

Jordan Begg is a co-founder of Future Group, a specialist contractor delivering practical, sustainable solutions for block and estate managers in the leasehold sector. With extensive hands-on experience in the electrical industry, he has a deep understanding of the challenges teams face on-site and has helped oversee the growth of six specialist divisions, giving him the expertise to lead complex projects from the ground up.

 

As Managing Director of the Lighting and Electrical division, Jordan oversees the delivery of energy-efficient lighting and control solutions for block and estate managers. His qualifications as a Qualified Supervisor for NIC-EIC Fixed Wire Testing and Inspections, along with additional credentials in emergency lighting, enable the division to meet the needs of residential block management, ensuring continued compliance and safety. Jordan's leadership has been instrumental in the division's growth, providing tailored, cost-effective lighting systems that significantly reduce energy and operational costs.

Julian Davies MRICS MFPWS is recognised as a thought leader for the property industry. With the highly successful Earl Kendrick Building Surveyors as his launch pad, Julian now enjoys a helicopter view of the residential surveying sector and the industry as a whole, and likes to give back to both whenever possible. He is regularly invited to bring his invaluable experience to a wider audience by contributing to publications and representing trade associations, as well speaking at industry events – and often bringing an appreciation of the lighter side of life in the industry.

Julian became a member of the RICS in 2004 and six years later he founded Earl Kendrick to build a team of talented surveyors serving a wide variety of clients across the country. Julian has always ensured the company’s core values are reflected in the approach taken by any member of his team. He has developed market-leading and tailored processes for clients, reflecting real-life situations so that tenants’ and residents’ needs are met too. Carefully thought out procedures for long-term planned maintenance, programmes of major works, reinstatement cost assessments, licence to alter, party wall matters and more, mean Earl Kendrick can boast an industry-leading range of services. Julian himself regularly acts as expert witness and has helped countless clients with their property related disputes.

Over the years, Earl Kendrick’s geographical reach has expanded from London to Manchester, Brighton to Birmingham and Bristol to the Cotswolds. Katie is a property lawyer who specialises in all aspects of leasehold enfranchisement, a niche area of residential property law. She acts for both landlords and tenants, advising them on a range of real-estate issues including the sale and purchase of residential property, all aspects of voluntary and statutory lease extensions, and freehold purchases and sales under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 and Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993. Katie also assists clients with the sale and purchase of freeholds under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 (Right of First Refusal) as well as the acquisition of freehold ground-rent investment portfolios and statutory collective enfranchisement claims. A keen contributor to many leading specialist publications, Katie is often approached to provide comment on the topic of leasehold enfranchisement. She is also a full member of ALEP (Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners). Most recently Katie has been asked to present a webinar on ground rent for a leading legal CPD provider. Katie is also co-legal editor of the quarterly publication “Handbook of Residential Tenancies” published by Sweet & Maxwell.
